This holiday season, Tohoku University's Global Learning Center is putting on a comedy show at Hagi Hall. Students from an intercultural collaborative learning class will be performing traditional Japanese "Owarai" with an international flavour.

The students, who represent many different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, wrote the original comedy material and developed the project together in class.

"You can learn a lot from humour and it's a really nice way for the students to incorporate elements of their own culture into the structure of a Japanese Owarai performance," says Professor Kazuko Suematsu, deputy director of the Global Learning Center, who leads the class.

This event is mostly in English with some Japanese. It is free and open to all; registration is not required.
